Hollywood legend Samuel L Jackson has revealed why he is a Liverpool fan

http://www.footballnus.com/The Hollywood legend Samuel L Jackson has revealed the reason why he is a Liverpool supporter, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Pulp Fiction actor from the United States, told BBC Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw that he is both fond of the city and Liverpool FC.
Samuel L Jackson went onto say that the reason he is a Liverpool fan is because his first football experience was at Anfield.
“That happened because I shot a film there and I had never been to a proper football game until I got to Liverpool,” Samuel L Jackson told radio host Nick Grimshaw.
“That was like my first football experience so that’s why particularly I am a Liverpool fan, that was my introduction to football and I spent a lot of time in the stadium singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.”
Samuel L Jackson was promoting his latest film Mrs Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, where he plays the role of Mr Barron.
Liverpool will be hoping the Hollywood star is present this weekend when they take on Swansea City in the Premier League. The Reds are on a four game winning streak and have moved up to forth place in the Premier League.
Swansea City meanwhile, have lost their last three games and are without a win in their last five.

PEACE IS POSSIBLE

We bring greetings and best wishes to all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, in the name of the Almighty God. It is our prayer that this nation shall continue to experience peace, unity, and prosperity for all the citizens. Our history as a nation, though not too long in comparison with other nations in the world, has been turbulent and at times full of uncertainty. Nevertheless, God in His mercy has granted us the grace to survive and remain united.
In 1999, after many years of military rule, Nigeria returned to democracy. There was hope in the nation that liberty and freedom of choice that will ultimately translate into justice, equality and fairness for all had returned to the nation. The tripod of justice, equality, and fairness shall certainly produce prosperity and strengthen the unity of the divergent groups within the nation.
Unfortunately, recent events in the nation signal a steady reversal of the expectations of the founding fathers of Nigeria that this shall be a country based upon the principle of liberal democracy, in which citizens shall have freedom of choice and be treated equally. There are worrisome signals that Nigeria is sliding dangerously down the destructive slope of injustice, oppression, discrimination and disregard for the rule of law.
It is imperative, given the challenges facing the Nigerian Church and the Nigerian nation to stress the need for the Nigerian Church to unite so that it can take its pride of place in the building of one united nation.
It’s very vital to maintain peace and unity in the multi-ethnic and multi-religious country of Nigeria. With more than 250 ethnic tribes and various religious beliefs divided across geo-political lines – of Muslim North and Christian South, — the nation’s unity is being woefully threatened by ethnocentricism, poverty, injustice, sentiments and religious fanaticism. Recently, religious radicalism has exploded in the Northern part of the country causing more harm and hatred among the overall Nigerians.

Baby Bump on the Front Row? Fashion Insiders Share Their Maternity Style Secrets

www.chizurubidsinc.blogspot.com.ng
KAREN ELSON WALKING AT MARC JACOBS SHOW 2006
Shows! Models! Champagne! Paparazzi! Celebs! Fashion month sounds like a blast, doesn’t it? The privilege—and it is one—of seeing creativity at the source can’t be beat. The real-life logistics of navigating hundreds of shows across four fashion capitals, on the other hand, aren’t always quite as thrilling—think shoe-ruining weather, omnipresent deadlines, fickle Wi-Fi, late Ubers, and sleep-sapping time differences. Add pregnancy to that mix and you have an incredibly delicate pas de deux to choreograph. Let’s face it: Assembling a fashion month wardrobe is daunting enough without having to consider a baby bump. Here, our favorite front row regulars share their maternity style secrets for Fashion Week.
Choose the shoe that’s right for you.
Miroslava Duma successfully alternated between a brand-spanking-new pair of white Chucks and the highest of heels. But Suno creative director Erin Beatty, who delivered a collection in advance of giving birth to Laszlo (now 14 months), kept things on the down-low. Did she wear flats, I asked? “Are you kidding?” Beatty responds. “I didn’t go near a pair of heels.” And when street style star Yasmin Sewell, now mother to Renzo, 1, wanted a bit of height, she opted for a comfortable wedge or platform.
Use your whole body.
“Since I lost my waist,” says Sewell, “it was about working the few remaining bits I could! I went for loose-fitting dresses mainly that showed my arms, shoulders, and ankles . . . everything else was hidden.”
Accessories are your best friend.
“My approach was the bigger the bump, the bolder the accessories!” says The Webster’s Laure Heriard Dubreuil. “I decided early on in my pregnancy that handbags were just too cumbersome and solely carried small clutches throughout Fashion Week. I found myself piling on jewelry—specifically large earrings, long pendants, and stacks of bangles.” Jessica Alba used a belt, placed above her belly to draw the eyes up, to create an empire silhouette.
You can stick with fashion.
Be fearless, like Sofia Coppola, who wore Marc Jacobss horizontal stripes with panache. “I didn’t and have never worn maternity pieces,” says Sewell. “So it was about finding those fashion items that worked and flattered the bump.”
Don’t forget your lipstick.
“Bold lipstick, especially for day,” says Heriard Dubreuil, “was an instant pick-me-up and a welcome distraction from my growing bump.”
Pack your sweats.
Prioritizing your health might mean adjusting your schedule. And that’s okay. “By the time I hit Paris, I was close to seven months and just found it a bit hard,” admits Sewell. “All I wanted to do was get on my couch and into my track pants and live there for a while . . . and that I did.”
Enjoy the glow—and the perks.
“I felt constantly surrounded by kindness and positive energy,” says Heriard Debreuil. “From style bloggers complimenting my look to security guards escorting me safely into the shows, everyone was so thoughtful and accommodating.”

USA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION UP DATE

Ahead of the USA Presidential candidate campaign first it was the New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie who suspended his campaign bid now Carly Fiorina the former HP executive has also taken turn to end her presidential campaign bid after loosing in the primary election on Tuesday

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has suspended his presidential bid, his campaign confirms.

ORIGINAL STORY ...

Former HP executive Carly Fiorina ended her bid Wednesday for the Republican nomination for president.

Fiorina, who was the only female GOP candidate in the 2016 running, called it quits after failing to crack the top five in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night.

“While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them,” Fiorina said in a written statement.

She added, “I will continue to serve in order to restore citizen government to this great nation so that together we may fulfill our potential.”

Fiorina, 61, entered the tumultuous Republican primary in April. She promoted herself as an outsider with business experience and argued that as the lone woman in the GOP field she was best positioned to oppose likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. After a standout performance in the first undercard debate, Fiorina rose to the mainstage and soared in the polls in the fall. But her momentum quickly stalled and by the end of the year she had dropped back down.

Fiorina won applause from women on both sides of the aisle in the second Republican debate in September when she was asked to respond to Donald Trump's comments criticizing her face.

"I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said," Fiorina said calmly. Trump sought to smooth things over, saying "I think she's got a beautiful face and I think she's a beautiful woman."

Fiorina's first major foray in to politics was in 2010, when she ran for Senate in California and lost to incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer by 10 points.

Throughout her presidential bid, Fiorina emphasized her meteoric rise in the business world. A Stanford University graduate, she started her career as a secretary, earned an MBA and worked her way up at AT&T to become a senior executive at the telecom giant.

But she was also dogged by questions about her record at Hewlett-Packard, where she was hired as CEO in 1999. She was fired six years later, after leading a major merger with Compaq and laying off 30,000 workers.

Fiorina’s announcement comes on the same day that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was expected to drop out, according to the Associated Press.

Christie finished sixth in the New Hampshire primary. He had banked his presidential prospects on a strong finish in the early-voting state, but finished behind most of his GOP rivals.

Beyonce drops a new single titled FORMATION

Beyonce released a new song, “Formation,” on Saturday, and the internet responded with much, much praise.

Images in the video made reference to the Black Lives Matter movement and protests against police brutality, sparking an immediate reaction on social media.

Beyonce sits atop a police car that sinks throughout the video. Another scene shows a young black boy wearing a hoodie and dancing in front of a line of law enforcement officers with shields. Both the boy and the police raise their arms in the air, and the video flashes to a wall with graffiti that reads, “Stop shooting us.”

Beyonce performed “Formation” during Super Bowl halftime show rehearsals, but it is not confirmed if she’ll debut the song live at the game, Rolling Stone reports.

How to make your own pancakes in 3 different ways

Pancake day is fast approaching

SERVINGS:
9 LARGE PANCAKES
PREP TIME:
5 MINUTES
COOK TIME:
10 MINUTES
It's not difficult to prepare

THE INGREDIENTS USED
6 Large Free Range Eggs
230g Plain Flour
2 Heaped Teaspoons Baking Powder
280ml Milk
2 Pinches Salt

PREPARATION PROCESS

Separate the egg whites from the yolks and place in separate bowls. Whisk egg whites with salt until it has formed stiff peaks (use a hand mixer to save time and your arms). In the other bowl, add sifted flour to egg yolks, followed by baking powder and milk. Beat together until mixed well. Fold the egg white mixture into this bowl, being careful not to lose too much air so it stays fluffy and whipped. Using a ladle, spoon the mixture into a non-stick frying pan on a medium to low heat (too hot and the pancakes won't cook properly throughout and will burn in places). I don't use butter or oil,  just make sure your pan is pancake friendly so it won't stick. After a couple of minutes if you notice little bubbles popping to the surface, it's about time to flip the pancake. You can use a plastic spatula and make sure the pancake has loosened from the pan before flipping. The pancakes should be an even golden colour. You can also place them in a stack on a plate before getting creative with fillings and toppings!
I have seen so many different recipes over the years for making the pancakes, but this one by Jamie Oliver is definitely the easiest and most effective I’ve ever seen . If you prefer something a little more fluffy as opposed to a crepe, this is perfect for you! You have to double Jamie’s recipe when you are making pancake stacks or if you have guests over so the recipe above have been doubled, feel free to half it though if you’re only making them for you or one other person. One of my favourite things about pancakes is the freedom you have with making them all so different.
Decorating them is definitely the most exciting part and I feel like you can get your creative skills out. If you have children or younger siblings, you can guarantee this bit will be the most fun. The possibilities are endless, you can go slightly more healthy with things like Greek yoghurt, honey and fruit or go chocolate crazy with their favourite sweet treats.

Ways in which you can make your pancakes

1: The Fruit & Yoghurt

This is probably the pancake you might want to make the most. This is quite a light filling as opposed to cream or ice cream and slightly more healthy. Spread a little bit of yoghurt between each layer and fill with your favourite fruit. You can also go with more exotic fruit too. You then put a dollop of yoghurt on top and a handful of fruit, topped with a drizzle of honey and a light dusting of icing sugar! Obviously you can substitute the Greek yoghurt for soya, natural or flavoured depending on how you feel or what you have lurking in the fridge. I think it looks quite impressive if I say so myself, not groundbreaking obviously, but tastes delicious and great for breakfast, lunch or desert!

2: The Chocolate Overdose

This one is probably best eaten as a desert as it’s high on the sweet-tooth scale (although i’m certainly not one to judge if you were to eat this for breakfast,
This is for those of you who love Nutella on your pancakes. Between each pancake is a smothering of Nutella and a handful of mini marshmallows and white chocolate chips. Some people prefer to drizzle chocolate dipping sauce on top, but you can always go for chocolate sauce (the kind you squeeze on ice creams) or melt some chocolate if you have a bit more time. wispa bites works wonders , if a few of it is sprinkled on top. If you have a favourite chocolate bar or biscuit, this is where you can incorporate it into the pancakes. I also think it would look amazing with some coloured sprinkles or smarties, but I didn’t want to go too wild! This honestly tasted…AMAZING. Very filling and probably best shared…but amazing.

3: The classic

scaling it down from the chocolate overdose by about a mile, it wouldn’t be a pancake post without the traditional lemon and sugar pancakes. Always best with real lemons as opposed to bottled lemon juice and caster sugar for a lovely light dusting. You can slice lemons and place them on top so whist you are eating them you have the choice to squeeze a bit more juice where needed and it looks pretty too. A lot of people’s favourite and something slightly less filling!  Will you be putting down the bottled pancake batter this year and giving these a go on Shrove ? I’d love to hear what your go-to filling is too so let me know on twitter @chizuruokeA and be sure to tag me on instagram @IAM-CHIZURUBIDSENTINC so I can see your beautiful pancake creations. They’re so quick and simple to make and you can almost trick people into thinking they’ve taken you a lot longer than they actually have if you want to get your presenting skills out. The possibilities are endless!

WILL EATING MORE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES MAKE ME SLIM DOWN

WILL EATING MORE FRUIT AND VEGETABLES MAKE ME SLIM DOWN?

Will eating more fruit and vegetables make me slim down?www.chizuruokeblogsite.wordpress.com
Want to get thin? Eat more fruit and vegetables – they’re a low-calorie way of filling up, right? The health site WebMD has “eat more fruit and vegetables” as one of its “22 best diet tips ever” and the next US Dietary Guidelines are likely to push a “healthy Mediterranean-style diet”, big on plant
image
-based food, to avoid more people becoming super-sized. But dietary advice being notoriously fickle, a research paper in this month’s PLOS Medicine says that eating more fruit and vegetables doesn’t necessarily help weight loss: it depends which ones you eat. Eating starchy vegetables such as corn and potatoes (boiled, mashed or baked – the amount of butter added unknown) was linked to weight gain. Eating more high-fibre, lower-glycemic vegetables such as broccoli and brussels sprouts was associated with weight loss. Lower-glycemic foods do not raise blood sugar levels as much as higher ones. So should you stick to non-starchy vegetables and is most fruit still a slimming aid?
The solution
The study, from Harvard University, looked at changes in the intake of specific fruit and vegetables recorded in the dietary questionnaires of 133,468 US men and women over 24 years. It took into account other lifestyle factors that affect weight, such as smoking, amount of sleep, hours watching television and exercise. Dr Monica L Bertoia, the lead author, says that, in America, the most common choices of fruit and vegetables are orange juice and potatoes. “There are many fruits and vegetables that may be better choices for the prevention of weight gain, such as apples, pears, berries and non-starchy vegetables,” she says.
The idea of eating more fruit and vegetables to lose weight only works if you eat less of something else – all calories count. A study last year from the University of Alabama, looking at previous research on weight loss and increased fruit and vegetable intake in more than 1,200 people, found that people who didn’t reduce their calorie intake overall did not lose weight.
Different fruit and vegetables have different characteristics – lower-glycemic foods cause fewer and smaller blood sugar spikes and may reduce hunger. So if you want high-fibre, low-glycemic fruit, go for blueberries and avocados. Strawberries are low on fibre but good on the low-glycemic scale, as is grapefruit – unless you pour sugar on it. Pears and apples came out well, even though they have a high-glycemic index – their higher fibre may compensate. For vegetables, try sprouts (without crispy bacon), broccoli, tofu, cauliflower and sweet potatoes or yams rather than potatoes. But remember, they all still have calories.

PRESIDENT BUHARI HAS ARRIVED LONDON FOR SUPPORTING SYRIA CONFERENCE 2016

President Buhari has arrived London for the Supporting Syria Conference 2016, a charity event that is aimed at raising funds for the war torn Syria.

The President was in France, where he held talks with the President of the European Parliament, Mr Martin Schulz and the President of the European Commission, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker.

Buhari Arrives London For ‘Supporting Syria Conference 2016’

President Buhari has arrived London for the Supporting Syria Conference 2016, a charity event that is aimed at raising funds for the war torn Syria.

The President was in France, where he held talks with the President of the European Parliament, Mr Martin Schulz and the President of the European Commission, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker.

The Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose has criticised the President for his constant travels, saying each foreign trip costs Nigeria $1 million.

Fayose said “Conservatively, about $1 million goes into every of the foreign trips and the way the President is going, foreign trips alone might gulp 20 percent of the Federal Government budget and that will be disastrous for the dwindling economy of the country.”

Adding that “This year alone, President Buhari has travelled to the United Arab Emirate, Kenya, Ethiopia and he is leaving for France and United Kingdom today to spend four days abroad.

“In most of these trips, about $500,000 is spent on estacode, transportation, accommodation, honorarium, media coverage, contingency and other expenses on accompanying Presidency officials.”

The Supporting Syrians conference 2016, is scheduled to hold today, Thursday, February 4, 2016

22 years old who killed his cousin for raping his girlfriend

22-year-old Ndifreke Joseph Clement, disturbed by sleepless nights and traumatic experiences after murdering his 23-year-old cousin, Ubong Edet, surrendered himself to police six months after the crime.
Clement… I don’t have peace of mind anymore.
Clement, a native of Akon Itam, Itu Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, who handed himself over to police at Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, said he slashed his cousin’s throat after beating him to coma because Edet slept with his girlfriend in August 2015.
He said “I cannot remember the exact date now, but it occurred in a night in August 2015 in the one room apartment we shared. On that day, I returned from work to meet the door locked.
“I knocked on the door and waited for over five minutes before my cousin could come to open the door. When I went into the room, I saw my girlfriend weeping and blood running from her nostrils.
“I asked her what happened and she said Ubong beat, wounded and forcefully had sex with her. But after opening the door for me, Ubong went away and did not come back until very late in the night.
‘We fought for a very long time’
“When I asked him why he did what he did to my girlfriend, he started punching me and I retaliated.
“We fought for a very long time before I could subdue him. I then picked my cow-butchering knife and cut his throat, carried his dead body and dumped it in the bush very close to the house and threw the knife into the pit toilet.
“I have brought myself to the police even when nobody knew that I killed him. I have come to plead for forgiveness because since I killed my cousin, I no longer have peace of mind. I am always disturbed in my mind and dream.”
The Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, said the suspect would be arraigned for the court to decide whether he had any right to take the life of another person.
